Fifth Grade Reading Curriculum

These are the curriculum objectives that will be tested on the Reading EOG.

Reading Goal 1 - Reading Habits
The learner will develop reading habits of a good reader.
Reading Goal 2 - Vocabulary and Word Work
The learner will increase vocabulary knowledge through word work.
Reading Goal 3 - Comprehending Text
The learner will comprehend grade level text using before, during, and after reading strategies.

Book Reports

Reading Accomplishments by Quarter

Students are to fill out a daily reading log. These logs are to be signed weekly by their parents. The results will be recorded at school. When the student has accomplished specific goals of 1000, 2500 or 5000 pages read, they will be recognized in the table below. Please note that all reading (magazine, newspaper, poetry, textbooks, novels) counts towards the page count.
